Blyesky? Ugh! What a typo! And now I can't change that, can I? |

Good question! The fediverse has had quote posts for years, but quote controls over who can quote your posts are relatively new. GoToSocial introduced them a while ago, but not much else adopted them until Mastodon, with FEP-044f, which they finished rolling out only very recently. FEP-044f controls are pretty expressive, but Bluesky's controls are much simpler: they let you enable or disable quotes per post, and they let you detach individual quotes after they've been posted, but that's it. They don't have any controls that depend on whether the quoter requires login to view their account. More background in #1956 |

Is there any way to restrict the Bluesky accounts that can quote-post one's bridged posts?
I'm asking because I'm fine with being quote-posted, provided I can see what the post is. I am not fine with being quote-posted if the account doing the quoting restricts visibility and makes it impossible for me to check what the heck they're saying on top of my stuff. If there was a way to stop those accounts from quote-posting it would be great. Alternatively, I'd also be fine with some sort of information on what's being said, I.e., forcing the visibility of that on, at least for the account being quoted.
