Restart cosmic-comp without losing session

Recently I encountered strange behavior in COSMIC. I had 3 monitors, one workspace was in tiling mode, others in floating. I had many applications and windows open and suddenly some of them started to flicker. I had two Firefox windows open, they also flickered, sometimes content from one window was drawn on the other window.

Coming from Linux Mint with the Cinnamon DE in such situations I had the Ctrl + Alt + Escape shortcut available to restart Cinnamon without losing my session. All applications and windows were still available.

I wanted to know if there's something similar for COSMIC, but couldn't find a thing. My search led me to https://www.reddit.com/r/pop_os/comments/1kxm3f3/restart_cosmic_de/ and there was a comment mentioning at least QT is able to reconnect to a restarted Wayland compositor, linking to this blog post: https://blog.davidedmundson.co.uk/blog/qt6_wayland_robustness/

Is there a way to use this to make a cosmic-comp restart available for such situations? Or is this even possible somehow right now?
