how to disable pinning tabs at top of the tree?

I would like to turn off this feature where when I drag a tab to the top, it thinks it wants me to pin it. I don't, I just want to move certain tabs around to be on top of each other.

Currently there is no option to disable it because Firefox also does not provide it.
It is the simulation of the Firefox feature implemented with the bug 1963552 - Add interaction cue in vertical and horizontal tabstrips to indicate its a pinnable area.

Ah, but you can actually disable it with a CSS hack with TST options => Advanced => User Style Sheet:

:root:not(.have-pinned-tabs).ready-to-pin-dragged-tabs {
  --pinned-tabs-area-size: 0 !important;
  & #pinned-tabs-container {
    display: none !important;
  }
  & #pinned-tabs-container::before {
    content: none !important;
