I have Copilot Pro Subscription(student).but I can only choose gpt5 in copilot cli. Do student Copilot Pro have any limitation??

yeah that’s expected right now. the copilot cli only runs on the main gpt5 model, no matter what plan you have. model switching hasn’t been added to the cli yet it’s not a limitation of your student pro plan.
other parts of copilot, like vscode chat or github.com’s web chat, let you pick models because those already support multiple backends. the cli just isn’t there yet.
once github updates the cli to support model selection, it’ll work for all pro users, including student accounts, without you needing to change anything.

The student Copilot Pro plan does have some limits. You usually only get access to certain models and there’s a monthly quota for premium requests, You can check your GitHub Copilot settings to see which models are enabled for your account. If other models aren’t showing up there, it’s just part of the student plan limits.

If you want access to more models or unlimited requests, you’d need to upgrade to the full paid tier.
