No option to upload document when applying for github education

Hi everyone,

I am a faculty trying to re-apply for the education account. My school does not put dates on IDs, so I have to use a different document (my faculty appointment letter). However, in the form for applying the only option is to use the camera, no file upload option whatsoever, even though the instructions say there should be. When I try to use the camera to take a picture of the letter it does not have resolution to be legible, so the application gets automatically denied. How do I do this?

Hi @kpenev,

Unfortunately, the upload option isn't always available and manual reviews aren't provided so you have to submit a live photo using your device's camera.

If the photo is blurry, try again until it looks good as also indicated in the Student Developer Pack Application FAQs:

Your first and last name, complete school name, and a date demonstrating current academic affiliation must appear in your document.
Make sure the image is clear and easy to read; if it looks blurry, please take a new photo. 👈

You can also try submitting the application from your phone.

Log out and log back into GitHub before reapplying, because the application system gets stuck in a loop even after the required information has been updated.
