It would be really helpful if the Github.com search feature would allow me to search the file names of binary files (like .png, .jpg .svg). I'm not asking for fancy image-based searches at this point, just a way to do a quick catalog of what's in my team's repos in a giant org with thousands of repos. Maybe it's a different category than "Code" results, which is reasonable.
Today the web search runs without errors, but gives zero result which is misleading:

0 results
A better experience would be to error than to give bad results like this. Some clue that .jpg files are not indexed at all.
An incremental improvement would be to do effectively find the file name and return the list of files matching the path .jpg.
find . -name '.jpg' -type f
While I can clone locally to do this locally for a few repos, I have thousands that I need to search over for auditing etc.
