No, GitHub does not automatically delete or clean up disabled repositories. They remain intact indefinitely unless the owner or GitHub Support takes action. There’s no built-in countdown, cleanup process, or notification system. GitHub also doesn’t have a specific abandoned repository policy, the general approach is to leave repositories under the control of the owner or their representatives.

If a repository is disabled and you can’t manage it yourself, the only way to have it removed is by contacting GitHub Support directly.
