I would like to understand if we can use the GitHub as respository for the track and trace - tobacco - E-Trustex. I'll be grateful for comments about it.

GitHub can certainly be used as a code repository or to host configuration files, documentation, and workflows related to a track and trace system. However, for a regulated use case like tobacco traceability with E-Trustex, there are a few important points to consider:

1. GitHub is not a compliance platform – GitHub is designed for source code management and CI/CD automation. It is not specifically certified for regulatory data exchange like E-Trustex.

2. Sensitive data – You should not store production tracking data, personal data, or any sensitive regulatory information in a public or private GitHub repository. GitHub is not meant to serve as a transactional traceability database.

3. What you can do –

     Use GitHub to manage and version-control the software that integrates with E-Trustex.
   
      Use GitHub Actions (workflows) to automate testing, deployment, or API integrations                     with E-Trustex systems.
   
    Keep the actual regulatory/traceability data in the proper certified environment (E-Trustex or other EU-approved systems).
