How do I stop past team members from receiving updates on pull requests and other information for a PRIVATE repository? That's great that existing members get a feed, but constantly hearing over the years about past developers receiving updates on a repository that they no longer have access to is so disturbing >.<

We made the decision to disable the ability to earn Achievements in our Community in order to discourage users from participating in coordinated or inauthentic activity like rapid questions and answers in order to earn badges. You can learn more about this decision in our announcement post here Achievements will no longer be available in the Community.

Note that GitHub's Acceptable Use Policies prohibits coordinated or inauthentic activity like rapid questions and answers. As a result, we'll be unmarking the answer and locking this post. 

Any future violations may result in a temporary or indefinite block from the Community. Thanks for understanding.

Just discovered this same issue myself and was directed here by ChatGPT to report the issue. Can provide screenshots from a test account that was briefly granted access to a private repo that is still able to view updates from the repo in the logged in user's GitHub home page feed
