Private repositories not available for granting access to sponsorship tier

When I edit my account sponsorship tiers, I don't see any of my private repositories to add. What I see on the list are repositories from one of the organizations I belong to (that I don't administer). And only from one, and not the others (that I actually administer)

am I wrong expecting that I should be able to select any private repository from my account?

When configuring sponsorship tiers on GitHub, it’s important to note that only private repositories owned by organizations can be added to a sponsorship tier, provided you have admin access to those repositories. This means that private repositories under your personal account cannot be selected for inclusion in sponsorship tiers. 

Additionally, GitHub currently allows attaching only one private repository per sponsorship tier. This limitation has been a topic of discussion within the GitHub community, with users expressing interest in the ability to grant access to multiple private repositories within a single tier. 

Regarding the visibility of repositories from organizations you belong to but do not administer, it’s likely that these repositories appear because they are owned by organizations and you have some level of access to them. However, to add a repository to a sponsorship tier, you must have admin access to it. 

In summary, you can only add private repositories owned by organizations where you have admin access to your sponsorship tiers. Personal private repositories are not eligible for inclusion in sponsorship tiers at this time.
