I follow many software projects and find the ratio of noise to signal poor. Specifically, I want to be automatically notified by RSS/Atom of every stable release but never notified of unstable, alpha, beta, release candidates, nor patches to previous stable major/minor series.
Please use SemVer to help tune out the noise.
When a project deviates from SemVer and labels a series as Long Term Support, use that information as well.
For anyone maintaining software projects, do less. Just do normal, SemVer point updates.
