Intermittent out-of-memory error when building on odroid

Sometimes the FPP release process fails because the odroid build runs out of memory:

So far the failure seems to be intermittent, and rerunning the build seems to work. However, I'm wondering if this behavior is a symptom of a larger issue which will eventually cause a hard failure, e.g., we are near but not quite at the limit of system memory.
