What about sendspin-volume when external volume control is active

I just discovered the opportunity to use a different entity to control the volume of a MA player.
So I now have a sendspin player on a raspi, connected to a external speaker. The external speaker has a entity for volume and this is the volume in MA.
But the sendspin player on the raspi still has its own volume. What happens with this volume? Shouldn't this be set to a appropiate level? or is it automatically set to max when I use external volume control?

So it seems that Sendspin is Set to 100% Volume if I choose another entity to control volume of a MA player.
This is not optimal, because the raspi on which I run sendspin is starting to have quality problems if volume is set to 100%.

Is there maybe a workaround? Setting the maximum output volume of sendspin, or Limit it with linux?
