Hello guys, after a few days testing with the confing.json file and with --username and --password i made gallery-dl finally work for Twitter/X with the next steps that i want to share with you, just in case that you want to try.
First of all, no i'm not good at this related to scripts so.
The browser that worked for me: Mozilla Firefox.
I tried with Chrome but it never worked for me (I'm not saying that is not going to work for you, is my experience.) --username and --password, yes or no?: it didn't worked for me, it always gives me Error, loging required, loging reject as suspicious, requires CAPTCHA... so i try with cookies.
The follow is a build (not build by me) of the confing.json file that i edit for me. It was edited with Notepad++.
Where to save the config.json file?
As you see there is a line that says "cookies": ["firefox"] but the important there it is that "firefox" is between these characters "[]" that little thing was the reason to make it work. Before to set it like that for me it was like this: cookies": "firefox"
But anyways i wanted to try with the setting of gallery-dl in my terminal CMD.
Then i didn't try anymore with -u (--username) and -p (--password) and changed to --cookies-from-browser firefox, why firefox? because that the one that i use for Twitter/X.
So, the command for the terminal that i use is the next one.
Fisrt of all, CD Where you want the downloaded files to be stored. Example: C:\Users\YourUserGoesHere\Downloads
Then the line in your CMD goes to change from C:\Users\YourUserGoesHere to C:\Users\YourUserGoesHere\Downloads.
So finally you will send the comands of gallery-dl to star downloading.
For me i use; gallery-dl --cookies-from-browser firefox TwitterURL TwitterURL is the link to the account that you want to extract multimedia or text or i don't know. So you change it. Let try with the account of... Elon Musk, only to show you how to build the command in the terminal and how should it looks like gallery-dl --cookies-from-browser firefox https://x.com/elonmusk.
Just like that it start to work, you have no idea how much i enjoy to finally see that it started to download...
Remember that always change the direction where you gonna store the downloaded, or you can, move them after but it takes more unnecessary steps that you can skip changing the direction...
