Paste no longer works with Electron >= 32.3.0

Neither right-click:paste or ctrl-v:paste work anymore for text copying. All other actions seem to work fine including copy. It is to note that right-click:paste works within the terminal window but nowhere else.
I uninstalled VScode and removed all preferences/settings yet the problem persists on a fresh build.
My only workaround so far is by using the clipboard-master extension and binding the default ctrl-v key. However, while this allows me to paste inside my files, it does not work anywhere else within VScode.

Using latest arch, I also have this issue now with all extensions disabled. 1.96.4 cd4ee3b x64.

Right-click paste, ctrl+v, ctrl+shift+v, and the paste command all equally do nothing. "Paste as Text" and "Paste As..." also does nothing.

It doesn't work in:

• files
• the ctrl+f box
• search editor
• the command pallet
• likely many more that I haven't personally encountered

I have not updated my settings or anything in a while, this came today when I updated (I previously updated maybe 2 weeks ago).

What does work makes this weird:

• copying still works, I can see them added to my clipboard manager.
• cutting still works
• "Paste into Active Terminal" still works
• using ctrl+shift+v in the terminal still pastes

Update: I have since downgraded to my previous version, 1.96.2 fabdb6a x64.

This issue remains.

Nothing interesting has happened to the arch package since then (Jan 1st).

Could another system dependency have broken it?

My insiders version still works (note, it is packaged in the aur as visual-studio-code-insiders-bin), 1.97.0-insider ce50bd4 x64.

@Sobeston The downgrade to 1.96.2 didn't solve for me too.

Everything was working fine yesterday. The issue started today after I updated my OS packages, and between those packages was electron (three versions of it).

I'll try to downgrade electron to see if it helps.

I've downgraded:

code-1.96.4-1 -> code-1.96.2-1
electron31-31.7.7.1 -> electron31-31.7.6.1
electron33-33.3.2-1 -> electron33-33.3.1-3
electron34-34.0.1-1 -> electron34-34.0.0-3

And the problem remains present.

Unbinding Paste somehow fixed for me.

I don't know if there is a problem doing this, but now paste command is working.

I went and tried older versions from the Arch archive server to compare, and found version 1.94.2 can still paste fine. The problem shows up starting with version 1.95.0.
