  • Code maintenance:
    • Package reorganization to reduce number of packages and hide implementation classes in non-public implementation packages to simplify the API.
    • Exception refactoring to reduce RuntimeException surface area and to improve documentation of exceptions thrown.
    • Javadocs need to be written for public and protected classes and methods. Class-level Javadocs need to be writen to explain class behaviors and to provide examples.
  • Remove support for direct XML parsing of models, constraints, and content
