Am I understanding how Melange integrates with JS and NPM correctly?

Am I understanding this correctly that:

1. Melange cannot be used with any NPM package, and needs OCaml-compatible packages?
2. You cannot add a JS file into a Melange project and be able to require it and have it compiled into the resulting JS?

Okay, after digging around the docs and poking Melange, I think I understand how it works.

1. You can use external and various melange annotations to use JS entities, both from local files and NPM packages. Be sure to add (preprocess melange.ppx) to your dune file if you do so (see here for an example).
2. Node's package loader will load from node_modules that's "next" to a file. So in theory you shouldn't need to do anything to have your bundler load melange, melange.belt and so on. It works with esbuild at least.
