Notifcations pulling focus in Version 5

Ever since updating to version 5 whenever I interact with the notifications for new fetched articles, such as trying to check the feeds fetched in the popup or pressing 'read all', it instantly snaps focus to the full application. In the earlier version, 4.something, it never did this from when I first set up the application around a year ago. I've tried to find a setting that would revert this functionality but I have not had any success. I'm almost certain it's some dumb setting I clicked on accident, but there is nothing in the notifications tab of settings that seems relevant. How can I resolve this?
