keybase cli not installed by OS X client

I installed the OS X client, but no keybase tool became available via the terminal after launching the app from the Finder. I was prompted for my password to install a "helper" tool (totally unnerving, btw).

That's odd. Is /usr/local/bin in your path? Does /usr/local/bin/keybase exist?

Found the issue. We don't currently support adding the symlink if installed in /User/username/Applications folder.

You can add a symlink manually to /usr/local/bin (or wherever you have a PATH set).

ln -s /Users/yourusername/Applications/Keybase.app/Contents/SharedSupport/bin/keybase /usr/local/bin/keybase

Also totally agree that the helper tool prompt is a little unnerving. We don't quit yet have onboarding designed and implemented yet which would explain why we need privileged access and what it is doing.
