Temporarily closing the repository to new pull requests

I've decided to temporarily stop accepting new pull requests.

Recently, there has been a growing number of low-effort, low-quality PRs that don't reflect real hands-on experience. Reviewing them and repeatedly explaining what's missing has become demoralizing and is gradually taking away my enjoyment of maintaining this project.

If you'd still like to contribute, please use this issue tracker instead. You're welcome to share code diffs or link to your fork for discussion.

This is only temporary. We'll figure out a better way.

A plan is to restrict pull request creation to collaborators and promote trustworthy users to collaborator status. Branch protection is needed to prevent direct pushes to master without a PR and merges without approval.

Hi Junegunn , please dont lose the enjoyment of the fzf project, its one of the most influential software ever created in the history of the terminal man, greater than rclone even , im a big fan of your work and proud sponsor, I think a lot of people and the IT industry wouldnt know what to do without your improvements twoards fzf my friend.

If you ever invent something greater than fzf (which sometimes ive given a thought its impossible because how good fzf is and the sheer power) count me in the sponsor side. . Thank you .

Hi @DANIII3L, thanks for the kind words. I might have exaggerated my frustration with the recent trends of low-effort pull requests. But it's clear that the traditional model of open source development with pull requests is struggling these days and needs some update. I believe the collaborator model will work well. There are a handful of users who have continuously contributed to fzf with great care for the project, so having them as collaborators should be enough to move the project forward.
