Hyperparameter Tuning Guideline

The hyperparameter of PS-Tree is rather robust. There is no need to tune hyperparameters in a general case. However, in some special cases, users may have special requirements for this package. Here, I will provide some additional guides about how to tune the hyperparameters of PS-Tree.

Computational Resources Limitation

When the computation resources are not sufficient, especially when we need to deal with lots of data, a good idea is to reduce the number of iterations. At this time, it would be better to use the tournament selection as the mating selection operator if the number of iterations is less than one hundred. This operator will encourage convergence with the sacrifice of exploration.
