Can the todo widget display the note in preview mode instead of source mode?

I would really prefer the widget to show my note as it is rendered.

It has no more features than you see. Also there is no contributor currently working on widgets. If you are interested on / know how to, help is welcome!

Any suggestions on how to begin work on this? I would also like the widget to output in the visual output from markdown.
