Note:
Top level README.md is what shows up when coming to the root of this repo, nested README.md is what gets published to npmjs.com, they should be identical. There are two because of the monorepo setup (separating package dir from repo dir).
Also added a top-level CHANGELOG.md with a link to the autogenerated CHANGELOG for the package, which is nested in a subdir and hard to find.
