How to active text selection with cursor

Hi team,

I came across some related issues:

• Selectable text on iOS #97
• Can only select text from one paragraph at a time #264

Do you know if this library supports text selection with a user cursor (as shown in the screenshot)?

I tried using .textSelection(.enabled), but instead of showing the selection cursor it only shows the copy popup.
I couldn’t find anything conclusive in the docs or codes, so any insights would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi! Thanks for the question — and for linking the related threads.

In MarkdownUI, .textSelection(.enabled) is applied to the individual SwiftUI views that render each Markdown block (paragraph, list item, etc.). As a result, selection is typically scoped to a single block, which is why you may see the copy menu but not get the “continuous” cursor/selection behavior across paragraphs.

If you need cross-view selection (including inline + block content behaving as one selection surface), this is something I’ve addressed in Textual, the successor project:
