Mechanism to display non-interactive mode while processing?

I like the way that pi's interactive mode displays things as they're happening. When I specify -p it processes the given prompt and shows nothing. --mode json shows something, but I don't really want to make my own UI? Is there one of:

• Some pi subcommand to render the json so you could do pi --mode json @prompt.md | pi render - or something like that
• A mode that shows the interactive output while in non-interactive mode
• A mode that exits after the first prompt is processed?
• Some variation of one of these...
