the grafic audio slider

is it possible to change the moving needle into moving audio only and a solid needle in the middle instead off like we have it now standard both neadle and grafic moving. I personally hate it when at the end of the window the new subtitle jumps to the opposite side and I have no connection (visually) to the previous subtitle.

love te app, really. great in all things i tried so far. i 'm Flemish and speak Flemish (kind of dutch) so you see why i need subtitles suspect its the same for Finnish?

_1 is before the answer of GrampaWildWilly and the grafic kept skipping see 0:07-0:08 and 0:28-0:31
_2 is after and the grafic is very flikery (now i'm not having episodes by that but it shure makes me uneasy)

I have some speculations about what you are seeing. In your sample videos I do see the waveform pulsing. It's almost like having cataracts in your eyes. But here's how things look on my system.

The waveform shape itself does not pulse on my system. I put this down to a combination of things;

• My CPU is an Intel 13th gen Core i9-13900K, not the latest but pretty powerful.
• My GPU is an NVidia GeForce RTX 4070, not the latest but pretty powerful.
• I'm running my SE controls undocked.
• My color scheme is not the dark one you are using.

The shape does not pulse but the horizontal movement of the waveform is a bit jerky. I'm not entirely convinced that's very important. You're not supposed to sit & watch the waveform. You're supposed to watch the video itself. I have this opera playing in MPV in an undocked video window on my other monitor, which is my television hooked up to Windows 11 as my secondary monitor. Playback of the opera on my TV is perfectly smooth. When you're going to do any editing of subtitles, you're going to pause playback & do whatever editing you feel is required. The waveform isn't going to jump or flicker while you're typing text during paused playback. Once you've done whatever editing of text &/or whatever adjustment of time codes, you're going to resume playback & focus on the video, not the waveform.

I would be curious to know if you still see the pulsing of the waveform if you try a different color scheme. My color perception is somewhat faulty so I can't deal with the dark themes that everybody else seems to love so much. For example, any red content (text or graphics) on a dark background may as well be in invisible ink for me. Maybe if you try a light color theme it won't pulse so much. I doubt running undocked is a significant factor. The power of your hardware might be a factor if you're running rather old or lower echelon CPU & graphics. I would assume that if you can run Windows 11 & it performs adequately, your hardware is unlikely to be an issue. I suppose to be complete I should mention that I am running Windows 11 Pro 64-bit version 25H2 build 26200.7019, which is maintained up to the latest Microsoft maintenance, which came out about a week ago.

always thought it was to center the selected subtitle around the selected point. ( had no idea why i would use it😇)
now, is there a way to make it less flyckery? I find myself rather agravated by looking at that flashy scene.🫥
