No default support for codec 'klv'

On PyAV version 16.0.0, I'm trying to get a klv data stream added to my output container like so:

 with av.open("udp://127.0.0.1?pkt_size=1316", mode='w', format='mpegts') as output_container:
       klv_stream = output_container.add_data_stream('klv')

Which gives me an error:
ValueError: Unknown data codec: klv

This is however taken from the documentations example where the example string 'klv' is given. I'm wondering which extra libraries I would have to install to get klv supported as a codec.

Last I checked, there still was no 'klv' codec in libav. So the error is accurately telling you that.

So you need to .add_data_stream() and then attach the data to it.

Where do we need to fix the documentation/examples?

Thanks for your answer, that makes sense!

I wonder how/if it is possible to then add a stream myself (encode the 'klv' as bytes myself) but label it as 'klv' with PyAV so tools like ffprobe see it as an actual klv data stream.
