Start with the smallest document that answers the current question. For a new work session, read the handoff and only the focused note it links for that task. The CSV ledgers remain authoritative when prose and generated reports disagree.
- Portable data preparation — original media, HDI creation, font and rhythm data.
- Portable 64-bit — download, setup, controls and Windows/Linux builds.
- PC-98 hardware reuse — fixes, measured performance, replay tools and claim limits.
- DOS build/testing — Windows fast builds and ordinary/invincible launchers.
- Semantic/native status and TODO — current native work, components versus published GUI.
- Script catalog — all tools grouped by task.
- Private artifact retention — protected tools/cache/input and archive recovery.
- Current handoff — present state, blockers, and next action.
- Roadmap — ordered non-MAIN reconstruction and control-plane work.
- Progress — generated all-artifact function routing and MAIN exact-byte totals.
- Boundary review — generated all-artifact work queue.
- Decoded function acceptance — OP/MAINE/ZUN cold replay and packed-file claim boundary.
- Reconstruction evidence index — focused notes grouped by artifact and technical surface.
- Architecture — artifact ownership, address model, source layout, and private state.
- Source layout — artifact and subsystem placement rules.
- Reconstruction workflow — bounded work and promotion loop.
- Oracle policy — evidence layers and exact acceptance.
- Knowledge base — durable facts and negative results.
- Toolchain — Borland, TASM, and TLINK setup and attestation.
- Ghidra — database setup and target-bound checks.
- Runtime — DOSBox-X setup and runtime Oracle requirements.
- Build matching — cold-build calibration and receipts.
- Earlier README — build notes and reconstruction milestones moved out of the landing page.
- Reference analysis — lessons from adjacent reconstruction projects and the pinned ReC98 control.
RE_HANDOFF.md contains only live state. Focused notes retain replayable
evidence and failed approaches; they are an archive, not a reading queue.
Historical outcomes should enter the ledgers or an existing subject note
instead of accumulating in the handoff.
