Note
Ubuntu - Hyprland Project
- Just a small note regarding Ubuntu Hyprland.
- Currently the Ubuntu installers are in different branches by Ubuntu release.
- I.e. Ubuntu 24.04 is located in branch 24.04
- https://github.com/LinuxBeginnings/Ubuntu-Hyprland/tree/24.04
- You can clone that branch using:
git clone https://github.com/LinuxBeginnings/Ubuntu-Hyprland -b 24.04
- I.e. Ubuntu 24.04 is located in branch 24.04
- Refer to the individual branch
README.mdfor more information
- NOTE: you need the package
curlfor this to work- This will not work if you are using the
FISHshell. -
BASHorZSH
- This will not work if you are using the
sh <(curl -L https://raw.githubusercontent.com/LinuxBeginnings/Hyprland-Dots/main/Distro-Hyprland.sh)- you can now use above command to automatically clone the Distro-Hyprland install scripts below
- it will clone the install scripts and start the
install.sh😎
Important
This is very Important for Debian and Ubuntu Dots
-
Previously, debian and ubuntu had an older version of Hyprland. That is no longer true.
-
Hyprland-Dotsare now compatible on Debian and Ubuntu. -
Debian 13 (trixie), Testing (Forky), and Unstable (sid) are fully supported.
- NOTE: For debian, Hyprland is compiled from source.
- This means a longer install process
- Also it's possible in the future a newer version of Hyprland might not compile. Especially on Trixie
-
Ubuntu 24.04, 25.10 are currently supported.
- Ubuntu is using a PPA to install the current version of Hyprland.
-
Ubuntu 26.04 when released will also be supported.
- At that time support for ubuntu 25.10 will be dropped.
- Going forward only the LTS versions of ubuntu will be tested.
- The interim releases may work but aren't supported
-
To update the Hyprland dotfiles, you now follow the standard upgrade process.
- He isn't updating them but they still have useful information
- Jak's YouTube Channel
Note: A new YouTube Channel for LinuxBeginnings is in the works.
